There are earlier due dates for some of your common forms that provide information to your employees, clients and others.
All of your W-2 Forms for 2016 are due January 31, 2017. That’s for all employees and for those submitted to the Social Security Administration.
All of your 1099-MISC with non-employee compensation in Box 7 are due January 31, 2017. That applies to the ones given to the payee, as well as paper and electronic copies filed with the IRS.
There is also one extension: 1095-B and 1095-C forms are due out on March 2, 2017 instead of January 31, 2017. Sending the forms to the IRS still has to be done as they normally are, February 28 for paper forms and March 31 for electronic forms.
